NW DC Kosher Kitchen

The primary objective of this project was to create a kitchen that would accommodate this family’s Kosher lifestyle, which requires the separation of meat and dairy during food preparation and consumption.   In order to accomplish this goal, the kitchen was expanded to include two sinks, two ovens, two dishwashers, and ample cabinetry to provide space for dual sets of cutlery, dishes, and pots and pans.

The kitchen expansion also provided an opportunity to create the bright, modern space desired by the clients.  An eat-in area surrounded by large windows and skylights allows light to flood the entire kitchen.  The large island with a prep sink and seating area is functional for both entertaining and everyday use.  The neutral wall color and white cabinets help to emphasize the beautiful, unique granite countertops.
