Condo Kitchen renovation

This condominium kitchen renovation came with it’s standard set of challenges.  The homeowner wanted to open up the kitchen to the dining room space, update the entire look to be more contemporary, include better lighting and more functional storage space.

The open plan proves for more multifunctional countertop space.  The open layout is more conducive to entertaining and conversation at all times.  The added cabinet space on the dining room side of the island provides more storage.

The natural light from both the kitchen window and the dining room windows merge to make both spaces feel brighter even on a cloudy day.

The repeated use of the rectangular shape can be seen in the new space.  From the cabinet doors, floor and back-splash tiles and even the modified pantry area with it’s pop of color, the repetitive motif unifies the space.  In addition, the absence of color in the white cabinets and counters in the kitchen are contrasted with the gray cabinets in the Dining Room defining the spaces.   Both neutral pallets allow the owners accessories to take center stage visually.
